Free PTE Academic mock test

A full PTE Academic mock, on Pearson's current format

Speaking, Writing, Reading and Listening in the order the test runs them, including the two Speaking tasks Pearson added in August 2025 — Summarise Group Discussion and Respond to a Situation. Scored on the 10–90 scale with the enabling skills underneath it.

PTE is marked by machine, which makes it the one test where practice against a machine is the same activity as the exam. This is still practice: the score is an estimate and is not an official Pearson result.

What a full mock contains

Speaking & Writing

Read Aloud, Repeat Sentence, Describe Image, Retell Lecture, Answer Short Question, the two 2025 tasks, then Summarise Written Text and the essay.

Reading

Fill in the blanks, reorder paragraphs, and the multiple-choice sets — scored against the key, with partial credit where Pearson gives it.

Listening

Summarise Spoken Text, multiple choice, fill in the blanks, Highlight Correct Summary, Write from Dictation — the task that carries the most marks per item.

Your score report

Overall on 10–90 with the communicative skills and enabling skills broken out, the way Pearson reports them.

How the score is worked out

  • The counted tasks are scored word by word against the source — Read Aloud, Repeat Sentence and Write from Dictation are arithmetic, not impression.
  • Fluency and pronunciation are measured from your audio, which is what Pearson's own scorer does.
  • The written tasks are judged against the published criteria, with the reason for each score attached.

Common questions

Is the PTE mock test free?

The quick mock is: about 20 minutes of the real tasks from every section, shortened, with an estimated score and no card. Each exam has its own quick mock. The full mock described on this page comes with a PTE pass.

Does it include the new 2025 Speaking tasks?

Yes. Summarise Group Discussion and Respond to a Situation are both here, with the counts Pearson's July 2025 score guide gives, and the rest of the task list is balanced to match it.

How is the score worked out?

On the 10–90 scale, from the counted tasks plus the judged ones, with the enabling skills shown separately. It is an estimate for practice, not an official Pearson score.

Is the content different each time?

Yes — the item banks are large enough that a pass of 20 sittings does not repeat an item. Practising the same items twice measures your memory rather than your English.

What score do universities ask for?

58–79. The report gives you the communicative skills separately because most requirements also set a per-skill minimum.

What does a pass cost?

20 complete mocks, valid for a year, priced for your country — the pricing page shows the exact amount you would pay. One payment, nothing renews.
