  1. Why is it important to preserve traditions?
  2. Are traditional customs disappearing in your country?
  3. Should governments fund the arts and cultural events?
  4. How has globalisation affected local culture?
  5. Do young people value tradition as much as older generations?
  6. Is it important for children to learn about their country's history?
  7. Can tourism damage local culture?
  8. Do national holidays still mean much to people?

die out

pass down

it's more of a formality now

watered down

a sense of identity

revive

Is it important to preserve traditions?

Some of them, and I think the honest version of this is that we choose which ones and then call the choice preservation. Traditions that carry a skill or a shared memory are worth real effort. Traditions that mainly exist to keep someone in their place are usually defended in exactly the same language, and the language doesn't distinguish between them. So I'd say the question isn't whether to preserve but which, and that's a judgement people would rather not have to make out loud.

Do young people in your country value traditional culture?

More than they're given credit for, though they engage with it differently. The complaint is usually that they don't attend the things their grandparents attended, which is true. What they do instead is take specific elements — music, food, some of the language — and use them in ways the older generation doesn't recognise as continuity. I'd argue that's what a living tradition looks like. The ones that survive unchanged are usually the ones nobody's using.
