  3. Do you sleep well?
  4. Are you a morning person or a night person?
  5. Do you ever take naps?
  6. Has your sleep pattern changed over the years?
  7. What do you do if you cannot sleep?

  9. Is your routine different at weekends?
  10. Do people in your country get enough sleep?

usually、tend to、more often than not、hardly ever、the odd time。
  • 「Has it changed」は現在完了形で、「I used to」を引き出します。
  • 「if you cannot sleep」の質問は仮定の表現です。

How many hours do you usually sleep?

About seven on a good night, which is less than I should and more than I did a few years ago. I'm much stricter about when I go to bed than I used to be — the getting up was never the problem, the eleven o'clock decision to watch one more thing was.

Do you take naps during the day?

Rarely, and I wish I could. I've tried and I wake up feeling considerably worse than before, which people tell me means I'm sleeping too long. My father can sleep for twenty minutes in a chair and wake up entirely restored, and I find it slightly infuriating.

Has your sleep changed as you have got older?

It's got less flexible. At twenty I could sleep at any hour and recover from a bad night in one go, and now a late night costs me two days. The amount hasn't changed much. What's changed is how little margin there is around it.
