- What kind of clothes do you usually wear?
- Do you wear different clothes for work and at home?
- Do you enjoy shopping for clothes?
- Have your tastes in clothes changed?
- Do you follow fashion?
- Is there a colour you wear most often?
- Did you have to wear a uniform at school?
- Do you prefer comfortable or smart clothes?
- Do people in your country dress formally for work?
- What would you wear to a special occasion?
“Jeans”很单薄;“jeans and a plain cotton shirt, usually dark”就不一样。
smart casual
it suits me
layers
“I wear layers in winter”——
I dress for comfort
hard-wearing
I wouldn't be seen dead in
What kind of clothes do you usually wear?
Fairly plain things — dark colours, not much pattern. I've narrowed down over the years to a small number of things I know work, which makes mornings quicker and my wardrobe quite boring to look at. I dress up properly perhaps four times a year and enjoy it more because it's rare.
Do you care about fashion?
Not in the sense of following it, but I care about clothes fitting properly, which I think is a different thing. I got a jacket altered for the first time about three years ago and it changed how I think about buying anything — most things look bad because of the fit rather than the design.
What do people in your country usually wear to work?
It's got noticeably less formal in the last decade. Suits used to be standard in most offices and now they're mostly for client meetings and interviews. My own office has no rule at all, which sounds relaxed and actually means everyone spends slightly more thought on it than a uniform would require.
