  1. What kind of food do you like?
  2. Do you cook at home?
  3. Who does most of the cooking in your house?
  4. Do you prefer eating at home or eating out?
  5. What is a typical meal in your country?
  6. Have your eating habits changed in recent years?
  7. Do you eat much fruit and vegetables?
  8. Is there any food you dislike?
  9. Do you ever try food from other countries?
  10. What did you have for breakfast today?

  • “What did you have for breakfast”

a staple

home-cooked

I'm not fussy

an acquired taste

grab something quick

it's an occasion

说“I like healthy food”或“I like delicious food”。

What kind of food do you like?

I'll eat most things, but the food I actively seek out is south Indian — dosas, anything with coconut and curry leaves. There's a place near my office run by a family from Kerala and I go far too often. I think it's partly that it's the food I grew up with, so it tastes like a Sunday.

Do you like cooking?

Very much, and I'm better at it than I used to be. I cook five or six nights a week, partly for the obvious reasons and partly because it's the only part of my day where the task is finished when I stop. Work is never finished. Dinner is.

Has your diet changed in recent years?

It has, though gradually rather than through any decision. I eat far less meat than I did five years ago — not for any strong ethical reason, mostly because I got better at cooking vegetables and stopped needing it. I also eat much later than I used to, which I'm told is bad.
